Raven had no idea where she was. Her mother was running away from- wait, what was it called? She couldn't remember. . . it was some sort of, large animal. The wind was making her shiver. Raven would do anything if she was with her mother, again. She missed her more than anything. Was she all right? Did she get caught by- that, animal? A few tears fell on the ground when she thought of that.
How did I get here? Raven thought, as she had a flashback of her Mother and all of the other horses running for their lives. This place is horrible! No food, water, nothing! Not even life. . . She let out a sob.
Raven was so tired from running. She trotted over to a tree that was a few feet away from here and layed down. She was so tired, but thought if she went to sleep, she wouldn't wake up.
The foal shrugged, anything is better than here. Her eyes slowly shut.
The sky was the color of baby blue. There was one or two clouds in the sky, but it made the scenery even more beautiful. Leaves were blowing gently. A horse with a black coat looked up at the sun. He had to admit the land he found was beautiful, and wouldn't trade it for anything.
"You found a perfect spot," A white mare said to the black stallion. "You sure know how to make a horse happy."
The black stallion smiled. "I'm glad you like it. We've only been here a month, but It feels like we've been here for years, don't you think?"
"Yes," The mare nodded,"I even think little,Raven, loves it to! Look at her playing with Jane. When we were back in our old land, they never said a word to each other."
The black stallion was about to say something, but his ears pointed up. "Grab the foals, quick! I smell an enemy, near by!"
The white mare's eyes went wide. She galloped over to Raven and Jane. "Stay beside me. No where, else!"
"What's happening?" Raven's voice was shaky.
The black stallion neighed loudly so that every horse could hear. Everyone looked up at him, then lead the way out of the danger. This was a nightmare.
Everybody was running so fast, Raven's eyesight was getting blurry. It was hard for her to tell where she was going. When she looked on the side of her, she couldn't see her mother or her friend, Jane.
When she was exhausted from running, her legs stopped. She realized that she has been following dirt blowing in the wind the whole time. Where were the horses? Where was the nice grass she has been standing on a few minutes ago? Or has it been hours? Maybe even days!
When Raven woke up, she choked. Her throat hurt when she swallowed. Suddenly, she felt something weird picking at her legs and stomach. It tickled a little, but when she realized what it was, it didn't tickle anymore. "Get off!" She screamed in terror, jumping up on her four hooves.
Raven fell back down. She had no energy left.
When the annoying, black birds, realized that she was alive they flew away quickly.
